DIY Makeup Setting Spray

I know...again with the makeup...who am I.  But here is the deal. I don't really like to wear foundation or bb cream or even tinted moisturizer.  Now that I learned how to prime and moisturize effectively, I just use concealer on a few places and go.  Then I put on my highlighting and contouring powder and my mascara and I call it done.  But powder doesn't really stay on all day. I was tempted to buy a fancy makeup setting spray but I figure I will probably hate it or it will make me break out. So I went to pinterest AND makeup setting sprays are primarily glycerine with a smattering of other ingredients I already own.

So I went to Amazon and I bought this glycerine for ~$6 and I bought these 3 spray bottles for ~$6 and I am going to whip up a batch of this makeup setting spray.   I will let you know the results in a few weeks (maybe if I remember).

Also, this Crack Creme, that I bought (recommended by some bloggers) has really helped to fight the flip flop feet and I am almost out and guess what the main ingredient is??? Glycerine.  So maybe I will mix that in with some lotion and put it on my tootsies.  Let's just see.

Makeup and Hair Stuff I Have Learned In the Wee Hours

Ok, I am so not an expert at makeup and I don't even wear that much but I get stuck on pinterest when I can't sleep or something like that and I go off on little tangents and I think I have much improved my skills? At least Wyatt agrees. You should check out how to do your makeup based on your features.

This one is majorly different for me.  If you have hooded or deep set eyes (like me), you have been doing your eyemakeup all wrong! Check out the tips for your type of eye and make sure you haven't been doing it all wrong.

And last, I have been checking out recommended hairstyles for my face shape. I have a heart shaped face, so pinterest says I should have side swept bangs or some major volume around my chin and neck area.  Hmm....

Some New Makeup Stuff

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer - The first primer EVER that doesn't cause me to break out. I have worn it under powder, concealer, and foundation.

Thanks to MaskCara I got into the highlighting and contouring game.  I bought her HAC pack which I like, but is a little heavy for day to day for me.  The main take away for me, was how to highlight and contour based on face shape.  I used sites like this to determine my face shape.  I used a piece of floss to measure height vs width etc.  I am a heart shape as I suspected.  Use these images and tutorials to see how to highlight and contour for your face shape.  I also used her recommendation for a contouring powder and bought The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer.  I love it, and use it every time I wear makeup. The key to contour powder is matte and dark (at least darker than I would have thought).
