Five Fact Black Friday

Did you buy anything today?  Are you still in your jammies? I have a few things on my online watch list. I MIGHT do some buying. I am writing this post before Thanksgiving, so I won't have any Thanksgiving pictures for you, but I hope yours was fabulous.  Hope mine was too. :)

1. I made 2 of Pioneer Woman's Nantucket Cranberry Pies and 1 of Annie's Salty Honey Pies.  What pies did your family eat?  I bought some vanilla bean paste because I am tired of buying expensive vanilla beans and this lasts for 3 years.  I hope it is as good as the real thing.

2. When I heard that my second baby was a girl, I was a little sad that they would never push dump trucks around the back yard together....but they do!!  Yay.  She even has a pink dump truck (not pictured).

3. I tried this Pear Pomegranate salad recipe and it was great!  I am on a pomegranate kick right now. I want to try this Butter Chicken next.  And maybe I need to make her Pumpkin Taco Soup again...mmmmmm.

4. I had a very proud moment last weekend.  We went to a local Mexican food place.  Wyatt used a tortilla as a napkin to wipe some queso off of his face.   YES!

5. My Monday bootcamp workout was so tough I couldn't sleep that night. A few peeps have asked me what we do, so here is my illegally captured picture of our workout.

No I couldn't even be bothered to crop out  the screenshot stuff

Location: 9th grade football team's dirty gym complete with staph and stinky sweaty floors
Warm up: 1 mile jog
Workout: The 12th Man - Start with #1 and do 1 rep of that.  Go to #2 and do 2 reps of that followed by 1 rep of #1.  Go to #3 and do 3 reps, followed by 2 reps of #2, and 1 rep of #1.

1 - Kettlebell Manmaker
2 - Kettlebell Turkish Getup
3 - Kettlebell Clean & Press
4 - Kettlebell Snatch
5 - Kettlebell Thrusters
6 - Kettlebell Swings
7 - Kettlebell Sit Ups
8 - Wall Balls / Box Step Ups (alternate)
9 - Ball Slams / Dead Lifts (alternate)
10 - TRX Chest Press
11 - TRX Tricep Extension
12 - TRX Atomic Push Up

So we did 1 man maker, 2 turkish getups, 1 man maker, 3 clean and press, 2 turkish getups, 1 man maker etc etc.  Doesn't look like much but it adds up quick and no breaks really.

Cool Down: Lay on staph infected floor and enjoy Bon Jovi song while stretching out our exhausted muscles

Five Fact Friday

Funny how I only post on Fridays now. I was tempted to publish this on Thursday just to shake it up.

1. We are attempting to take kid only Christmas pics this weekend like with a real photographer that you pay money to. I am a little nervous BUT there is going to be fake snow and then a Santa appearance that will probably cause Kate to cry but I think Wyatt will like it. Our town is having some festivals of lights and parades coming soon. I think it is time to get into the spirit. I really think I can't get away with slacking on the decor as much this year. Wyatt noticed that our house was not decorated for Halloween and "everyone else" did. So I might buy some things to hang in windows and on doors. And where am I going to put a tree? And how am I going to keep a 1 year old off of a tree?

2. Kate has given up eating avocado so I am a little heart broken because that plus butter and cheese quesadillas was how I was fattening her up. I have had to switch to peanut butter on bananas...a bit messier.
Spoon training is going well, right? She chunked the spoon and started dipping her cheese in the yogurt

3. Hunter had the craziest Saturday night last week...

4. Wyatt has started the billion questions part of his life. I knew this was coming.  Who made dirt? How do toys get made? How do lights work? How do air conditioners work? Do rocket ships have steering wheels? How are cups made? Why does your truck have 3 pedals? How do you back up?  I deferred on how the air conditioner works question and Hunter explained it to him using lots of technical terms and Wyatt just shook his head and soaked it in the whole time like he understood.  What if he did understand?  This phase is exhausting.

5. Tamale! Season! I ordered a few from a neighbor's school's fundraiser and I wish I ordered more more more.  Tamales all day.  Kate loves tamales.  Tamales for breakfast.  Give me some more tamales. With queso.  And margaritas. Yeahh!

Five Fact Friday

Hiiiiiiiya!  We almost survived another week...hurrah!

1. I don't need to complain about time change because we have all read enough rants and felt enough pain, but let's all move to Arizona so we don't have to deal with this!  Funny parody here.

2.  One morning this week Wyatt was desperately searching for a tractor.  The yellow and green one with the trailer.  He was going nuts looking for this one and describing it.  One I knew we didn't have. I didn't recognize it. He kept saying it was right here yesterday.  Right here.  Racked my brain. Dug through all the tractors.  Realized it was a dream. I asked him if he dreamed it in his sleep.  Yup.  Ok, it is not a real tractor.  Ohhh.  And then he moved on.  Yay logic. Yay when you understand something going on in your kid's head.

3. I really enjoyed this post on 10 Ways to Make Your Kids Laugh.  This might be my favorite blogger right now. You should follow her.

4. More egg poaching tips.  I now have 3 methods that "I approve".  A tornado version here an egg prick method here and my new fave "drain the excess egg white" here.

5. Weaning started going quicker than expected. Yesterday might have been the last day. So far we are all surviving. My right side almost didn't yesterday. Ha ha. I also was acting like a crazy woman this week and food was not right. I was taking bites of food and then chucking it because it tasted awful....so not me.  Then I remembered the crazy person that I became when weaning Wyatt.  Good luck Hunter. Bear with me for the next week or so.

Be cool, it's Friday!
