Merry Christmas!

What Can Santa Bring?

Wyatt:
All Wyatt wants for Christmas is his own pair of scissors...preferably blue.  He seriously asks for these every day.  This comes from me saying "these are mommy's scissors" a few hundred too many times.  Grandma Santa has taken care of this. Whew! Wyatt is really getting into the season.  He talks about his Christmas tree party and going to see Christmas tree lights. And making Christmas tree ornaments. And singing Christmas tree songs.  Ha ha. The tree is a very important part you see? The first thing we do when we wake up and go into the living room...turn on the Christmas tree lights. Not sure what will happen once we take down the tree.

Kate:
All Kate wants for Christmas is to be able to breathe through her nose.  Baby Kate now has a cold. Everybody knows how heart breaking it is to see your little baby not be able to breathe through her nose.  She gets so frustrated and just kinda pitiful wails. As of last night she can't sleep laying down.  Her options are somebody's arms or the swing on incline.  The swing is working pretty good today. Cross yer fingers. Santa, this one can be delivered before Christmas.

Hunter:
All Hunter wants for Christmas is a pleasant wife and maybe a chance to relax in the evening? Perhaps a dessert or two a week?

Janet:
I want pants that fit, a clean house, and a bit more continuous sleep.

Trust us, we have all been good this year!

Tis The Season

For Hunter to work 7 days a week and 10 hour days (except for the week of Christmas). I plan to spend more time with my real friends Instagram, Facebook, text message, and random bloggers to get me through these next few weeks.

We have already made all of the homemade toddler Christmas decorations that fall into the extra extra easy category. I guess we could make sugar cookies but I don't have any Christmas cookie cutters. Bah humbug! I am blaring the Third Day Christmas music channel on Pandora in hopes of putting me in a better mood.

All of the Christmas shopping is done aside from one mandatory Target trip (for me) hopefully with zero to one kid and I really have no good ideas for Hunter.  How can I have no good ideas for him?? Target isn't really his kinda store.   I have wrapped 1/17th of the presents.

We do get to see both sides of the family next week. Hooray!  Good food. Hooray!  Kate giggled 2 times last night.  Double hooray! That just made my week.

Wyatt is playing play-doh.  We are currently making chockit clip cookies out of the blue play-doh.

Is everybody ready for next week?  Merry Christmas week!

Our preschool Christmas program costume. He was an animal obviously. And yes, that is the same shirt he wore in our Christmas card picture last year.

Keepin It Clean

I am not sure if this is a confession blog post or if I actually think anybody would want to read this.  I am definitely embracing the spend more time with your kids and less time keeping the house clean methodology. No problemo with that one. I was making a mental list of things I do and don't do every day while both kids happened to be sleeping at the same time and I decided to waste your time by writing it up.

Things I Do Almost Every Day:
Make the bed - so I can swan dive into it once both kids are asleep
Do the dishes - I can't leave anything out overnight
Sweep the kitchen
Put up some toys - but never all?!?!
Wipe the table and the high chair seat - threeee tiiiimes a daaaaay

Things I Almost Never Do:
Mop the kitchen
Vacuum
Scrub toilets, sinks, and showers
Put up all of the clean laundry - why cant I ever finish it. hanging up clothes is the worst for me

Things I Will Never Ever Do:
Dust - maybe if the president was coming over?
Organize
Iron - maybe for a wedding?

The End. Enjoy my boring worthless post. I almost didn't publish this (about 10 times) but then I decided to. You're welcome.

Loddy Doddy

I am not together enough to write real posts, so more ramblings for you.

We pulled out our Christmas decor.  I am averaging a decoration every 2 hours.  Might be done by Christmas eve. Sad news....our fake tree is in San Antonio. Time to purchase a new one.

I am still working on Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I have almost finished 10 workouts (in 20 days?) so time to move to level2.  Wyatt now asks "need to exercise tonight?" and talks about Jillian.  He "works out" with me.  It is pretty cute to see him do jumping jacks and stretch. His favorite part is abs.

I have eaten dinosaur chicken nuggets and noodles with jar pasta sauce more times than I would like to admit for lunch recently and breakfast for us yesterday was tater tots.  Bwah ha.  I had planned to make eggs and tater tots but we were out of eggs.  Luckily, Hunter watched both kids last night and I made a trip to the store.

This salsa verde chicken chili is one of the easiest throw in a pot meals that is actually very good.  I used store bought tomatillo salsa.  I tried this Sweet Potato Pomegranate salad last night and it was good not great.  Found out Wyatt loves pomegranate. Hope it's ok for him to digest all those seeds. So far, so good. Planning on collard greens, sausage, and biscuits (from the freezer) tonight.

Kate is now allowing me a 5 to 6 hour stretch of sleep at night, but this is at the price of extreme grumpiness from 7:00-9:30 PM.  She just can't settle down.  On Monday she left baby vegetable phase and turned into a more alert lil baby and gave me 3 smiles!  She looks at me and talks a little bit and then offers a smile. A smile really does make life sweeter.

Our San Antonio trip was a success.  Kate was having a tough time, but she took a bottle and got lots of love from MIL and Auntie. The wedding was great. The bride was beautiful. My dress fit. I had a glass of wine and got to dance.  Whoo hooo.   Thanks MIL! Wyatt was a pretty good kid too.

We are celebrating Lisa's birthday and a delayed Thanksgiving this weekend.  Can't wait!

Two pics from our crazy day yesterday.
