Five Fact Friday

Instead of figuring out why my house smells, I have decided to grace you with a few life updates. I think its my trash can....ugh...today is trash day.

1. Most people use their Blendtecs to make green smoothies or almond butter or something to better their life.  I am on a triple thick milkshake kick.  I am talking blending brownies up into the ice cream and other silliness.  This started on St. Patty's Day with a mint chocolate chip one and I dream about what is next.  Peanut butter and chocolate.  Strawberries with nutella.  ICE CREAM! IIII SCREAM.

I am having to eat stuff like this for lunch so my pants will still fit.  So worth it.
2.  Wyatt learned to write his name.   I sure didn't teach it to him.  Thanks preschool!  Now he is obsessed with writing people's names.  We spend our evenings after dinner writing letters with chalk. After dinner has been kinda nice since the time change.  Instead of putting kids straight into the bath tub after dinner we do a wipe down and go play or go on a walk.  I could get used to this.
3.  After 2 weeks of suffering, Kate finally learned to extend her one nap a day.  She now naps 2 to 3 hours a day starting at 12ish.  I just flip out when we have to drive anywhere because a 2 minute power nap can ruin EVERYTHING.  Look into the light Kate...noooooo.  Stay awake.  Throw toys at her.  Shove snacks in her hand.  When she gets a good nap she wakes up happy and gets to stay up late enough to see daddyyyyy (her favorite).
4.  I didn't know that bed time stalling developed at 15 months but this is what Kate yells when you lay her down before a nap or bed time.  INK INK INK (drink please).  DEAT DEAT DEAT (eat please) BUPPY BUPPY BUPPY (here is my puppy that I cuddle with).   Her other main vocabulary words are tractor, mower, cheese, tank you, book, Dusty (like the airplane), bow bow, hat, catch, ball, and shoes.  Kate's favorite book to read is a Trucks book with little sliding flaps...is there a girl equivalent to this?  Animals maybe?  I need to browse the flip book section.
Likes to rock any 'hat'.  Will play in the front yard with her or Wyatt's bike helmet on.

5. And lets talk about foooood...HEB Pork Taco Meat "Al Pastor"  not soo shabby if you put lots of pico and some avocado on those tacos....too spicy for the kiddies though.  Until today I only ate my cabbage in cole slaw, cabbage soup, or turbodog braised BUT I heard someone talking about fried cabbage.  I looked it up...it is cabbage cooked in a few sliced of bacon (and grease of course) and it is delish!  So bring on the cabbage..and bacon.
Tree climbing with our best neighbors...every day.

Five Fact Friday

1. I have discovered the secret to accepting time changes.  Go on a trip...and then your kids will be so tired they will go to sleep whenever you put them to bed.  I need to remember this trick for next year.   So take a trip, have spring break, and convert a baby from 2 naps to 1 all during time change....yay!
I'm not sleepy mommmmzzzzzz

2. And just in case you thought fun Janet does not exist anymore....here is proof of fun Janet and sleepy baby Kate.  Doesn't my face just say FUN? My hair says East Texas.  My clothes say 2002. Kate liked to roll around on the ol 4 Wheeler but my thumb only lasted about 5 minutes with this 1988 throttle.

3.  We went to eat at a BBQ joint for dinner one night this week.  The serving girls asked if we wanted jalapenos, onions, and pickles.  We said yes.  All the things.  Wyatt said jalapenos please so the girls made a big deal of fixing him a special cup of his own jalapenos.  He sat down at the table and pulled his cup of jalapenos over, pulled one out, and took a bite.  Poor guy.  I couldn't stop laughing but he was in so much pain.  He looked just like the cartoons do when somebody eats something too spicy.  He made a cry face for a few seconds, chugged some water, and stuffed some potato salad in his mouth.  I tried one of the jalapenos and they might have been the hottest pickled jalapenos we have ever eaten.  I still want to laugh and cry at the same time when I remember him eating his special jalapenos they fixed just for him.

4. I got a new fancy Blendtec for a birthday present and I am going bananas.  All those green smoothies have perfect consistency.  I am blending raw almonds into my smoothies.   Completely frozen fruit...not a problem.  Hunter always says I don't need one.  Janet always says she wants one.  Janet makes at least 2 smoothies a week.  I think it is a perfect addition to the kitchen.  Has anyone tried the soup setting yet?

5.  Kitchen wins this week.  Hamburger / Salisbury steak with mushrooms and onions served over mashed potatoes.  Best way to switch up my ground beef so far.  Model after pioneer woman if you need a starting point.  Also, I have never tried White Enchiladas and this sauce was so good I was eating it with a spoon.  I used some leftover pulled pork and chicken to stuff it.  I need to repeat this one.  I paired my enchiladas with Pressure Cooker Spanish Rice

Five Fact Friday

1. I just laid Kate down for her last ever scheduled morning nap.  Wah. This may be more emotional than weaning.  I am going to use the time change and spring break to my advantage and mess with the schedule now.  She is ready.  Our afternoon naps aren't going as well and she is happy awake for a long time in the morning.  The mornings that Wyatt was at school and Kate was napping were so amazing.  Buy bye peace and quiet.  I guess I have to wake up at 5:30 AM on days that I don't wake up at 4:30 AM to get some work done.

2. Wyatt had school today. Hunter had off work today.  We had a very happy drop off but I got a phone call at 9:45.  Wyatt was crying uncontrollably and he wouldn't say why.  He never does so they were worried about him.  Welllll...he just wanted to be home with his daddy that he has missed so much lately.  Breaks my heart a little bit but I am so glad they get to hang out today.  He has had a tough week with an ear infection.

3. Have I mentioned my obsession with Jamberry nail wraps?  I think so.  These nail stickers are the best.  I might only fix my hair twice a week or put on real clothes occasionally but my nails are always looking good.  They last for 2 weeks, easy on, easy off, fun prints.  Love love love.

My Spring Break wraps...come on warm weather

4. I better go pack my bag.  We are going to go visit East Texas for a few days and enjoy some cold and rainy weather with maybe one or nice days thrown in.  Spring Break...never nice weather...what is the deal!

5. Amazon Subscribe and Save for life.  Is anyone interested in knowing what is in my monthly purchases?  I would be glad to share...especially for the items I price compared.  This is really simplifying my life.  When I run to the grocery store...I do the produce, milk, bread, meat lap and I don't have to visit any other rows.
